What happens during a JJoG?

There are four main parts to a JJoG which can take place over the recommended 2 days (7-8 hours, evening and morning gatherings) but can be tailored to shorter sessions as needed. A typical JJoG is timed for between 18-20 participants sharing so fewer participants will shorten discussion times. Sessions include videos, readings, inductive bible study, generosity questions as homework and lots of discussion. We find that it is important to leave adequate time for the Holy Spirit to influence participants’ hearts and minds which is why we recommend this schedule. After an introductory session (20 min) covering the participants and the JJoG Vision and Objectives, the remaining sessions follow these themes:

God is generous (90 minutes)

Disciples become generous (60 minutes)

Disciples live generously (2 sessions 90 minutes each)

Generosity begets genersoity (90 minutes)

We cannot emphasize enough that we want to leave space for God to move and show us what specific steps we need to take. Reflection without action is not transformative. Spiritual formation best takes place when we make room for God.
